Fancy rock, indie or pop music? Check out the fun line-up for RIF 2019 (previously Rock and Indie Festival)! Apart from the local fare you may already be familiar with, also expect some fresh new faces and acts by students!
RIF2019 returns on 14 September, and is set to excite music enthusiasts with a curated all-local musical line-up.
This year, the homeground of RIF2019 will be transformed into an excitable festival space, expanding its reach across 3 stages — the Flexible Performance Space (Flexi), Campus Green (Frasse) and the Creative Cube.
Festival goers are treated to music of varying flavours such as rock, independently produced music and its affiliated genres, including Pop, Blues, EDM and many more. To the everyday music enthusiast, there is bound to be a performance palatable to their tastes.
This year’s line-up includes:
The first Singaporean female artist to sign a multi-rights deal with Universal Music Singapore. Her latest single, ‘All of Our Friends Know’, is a follow-up of her 2016 critically acclaimed debut EP ‘Paris 12’.

The quartet combines 70’s synth-pop nostalgia into their music and just released their first studio-recorded EP titled Waters, approximately a year after making their introduction to the mainstream with Baybeats 2018.
Knightingale is a Singaporean 3 piece Garage Rock band who brings in a fresh new perspective of rock n roll with pop-infused melodies and intense energy during their live performances.

Music by Students!
Aside from these well-known and well-loved acts, RIF2019 also features emerging local musicians to showcase their music and expand their audience outreach. Nexus International School make their return to light up the stage at the Creative Cube!
In the weeks leading up to RIF2019, students of LASALLE got to join a band competition regardless of their field of study. Titled ‘Band Blast!’, the Flexi Stage will see the finalists face off at the biggest stage of RIF2019. The grand winners of the competition will walk home with attractive prizes sponsored by Easy Book, Loof and Rhombus Studios!
